It's only the biggest and most watched sporting event on the face of the planet and always wil be. People are crazy over it because it's exciting to watch the best athletes out of every country in the sport compete in the ultimate competition of the most beautfiul game. In almost every country football (soccer) is Ingrained in the culture and is do or die and very emotional and passionate because of the love for the beauty of the game

I blame it on the search engines, especially Google! I'm sure that FIFA paid them to commercialize their event. The first thing I saw when I went on Google was this amazing FIFA doodle. And it just put FIFA in my mind for the rest of the day, cause it came every time I went on the search engine. I never saw one match, but it was a world event.

I don't think I am obssessed with the World Cup but I am really a fan of this sport.
