Suarez was targeted by Real Madrid as well, but after the biting incident and so much bad publicity about Suarez, I think they pulled out of the race. Everyone hates Suarez now. Barca were aggressive because they didn't win a single trophy last season and they feel like they need drastic change. Real Madrid however have a good Benzema-Bale-Ronaldo combo up front and Modric-Alonso-Khedira midfield and obviously Ramos-Varane-Pepe-Marcelo defense that's working well together.

He was linked with Real Madrid last season. Either way, I think it would be out of the two. I guess Barcelona wants him more, why else did it take a couple of weeks to seal the deal? Anyways, Madrid have enough players, Suarez will be better at Barcelona than at Real Madrid. Maybe if Benzema leaves, Madrid will buy.

I personally think it was bad for both teams to even consider pursuing him. Plus, his ego doesn't suit Los Blancos or the Blaugrana. I see him more of an Athletico type player, coming into Spain, but I think he should have just stayed in Liverpool, but he did make it clear that it was for familial reasons why he wanted Spain.

Because Barcelona is the best team in the world, neither the bad last year.
