The young and promising Raheem Sterling opened the scoring for Liverpool after a fantastic through ball by Jordan Henderson.
Nathaniel Clyne then equalised with an amazing,unstobbable shot from 10 yard after a clever, cheeky backheel from Tadic with his back from goal.
Sturridge scored late on to seal the victory for Liverpool after Sterling played him in and Victor Wanyama failing to clear his lines.
The game overall was a close one but Liverpool just edged the saints out and marked their first game of the season as a victory.
