Kroos got sold more for his bad attitude than his footballing ability, and that's why some fans are happy to see him go, he's constantly demanding more money than he's worth and is generally rumoured to cause tension in the dressing room and Bayern won't miss him. But he's a great player with a great vision and he's good passer and playmaker in general, i don't see anything Xavi does that Kroos doesn't and Kroos has a better shot. Real got a really good deal at £20 Mil (less than Lallana, lmao) if they're ready for riots in the dressing room and constant pay rise demands then i think he'll work well.
But he's not really a massive improvement on someone like Modric or Di Maria.. etc, it's just changing one for the other. But he;s much better than someone like Isco who's place in the team he'll be taking.

You are judging him far too harshly. Kroos was one of Bayerns best players last season, their most consistent player besides perhaps Neuer. Two seasons ago he kept Robben out of the team for large chunks of the season. He was definitely good enough to be a starter for Bayern, and he was a starter for Bayern. As for Madrid, I think he should do just fine but we will have to wait and see how that goes.
But you are right about the midfield losing battles, when we lost to Barca and Atletico and other big matches, its because of the mid and shady defending. Kroos does not defend that well from what I seen but as Ancelotti made Isco and many other proper defenders in big games, I think he can do the same with Kroos.
1) kroos is a great midfiellder
2) he was 1 of peps favourites and one of jupps favourites and one of loews, 2 managers with highly contrasting tactical preferences who all regard kroos as a key starter for one of the worlds top 3 or 4 national teams AND club teams. that alone suggests hes not that bad since either could throw him out anytime
3) his rage of passing and ball retention is extremely good, and needed for real madrid
4) how can u be so sure madrid lost the idfield battle of a game u didnt even watch when u dont even know who is playng and who isnt
5) kroos, james, benzema, varane, marcelo and khedira were RM players who are were off for that game, coentrao left too due to wife giving birth. so no kroos wasnt there.
