He buys the players Arsenal need. We needed a striker, he got a striker.. Yeah, we could have spent more, but it'll just be more money to spend in the next transfer window. How long do you really think it will be before we win the premier league if we can afford Sanchez-Ozil transfers every summer transfer window.
He's building a squad for the future, Chambers is 19, Campbell is 22, Welbeck is 23, Ramsey is 23... When Wenger eventually does leave, we won't be in the mess that United were left in. We will have a decent squad with back-ups and lots of money.
He's a much smarter manager than you give him credit for - he doesn't panic on transfer deadline day and spend millions on players he doesn't need. Arsenal are in the Champions League - Man United aren't. Man U has spent a fortune on star players when they can only win the Premier League and/or FA Cup. There's a transfer window in January 2015. Arsenal doesn't need to fire a long-serving manager because their fans don't understand about developing players and a proper team. Spending money on South American players who may or may not understand the Premier League is a foolish path to follow.
He wont go until his contract ends in 2017. But I agree he seriously lacks ambition now, probably because he has been there since 1996. He is way too stubborn and tactically predictable. When he goes I would try to bring in Jurgen Klopp.
Wenger's problem - He has never built a defense.
He has brought in excellent midfield players & strikers over the years but lived on George Graham's defense until they retired.
Then he brought in poor defenders. I remember Drogba completely destroying them on many occasions.

If he finishes 5th without a trophy then yes, he'll still be there if they finish 4th. If they've only signed Welbeck then I can see them being in real trouble esepecially with Giroud out, City in a couple of weeks and then Dortmund after that.

He is sh*t now. I doubt any good managers will want to join arsenal. Mourinho definitely won't he hates Arsenal, Ancelotti nope, Pep could but he is overrated and is ruining Bayern. Only realistic ones are Klopp and Simeone

Now most of us (arsenal fans) will think no, but seriously, this guy has 0 ambition. All he wants is fourth place and an occasional domestic cup. I think that big players such as ?zil may want to leave because of this lack of ambition. And I think he may have to go. I was just wondering what my fellow gunners think?
2017, stay patient, I know he has this urge to save money when he's got it available....hopefully we do our best to challenge and win until then.
