Opinions on this original Football (Soccer) formation?

You could pull it off if you have three things:

1. Your defensive mid is very strong at defending as you're clearly going to need him to take some of the burden off of your backs.

2. You have fairly pacy outside backs that are in pretty good shape because they will be running up and down the field trying to stimulate your attack and catch other teams on the counter.

3. Your central creative midfielder is one of your most creative and skillful players. He will be responsible for initiating and dictating almost all of your play so he needs to be capable enough to be able to take on that burden.

If those three needs are met there's no reason why you couldn't be a dangerous side.

i personally for a sunday league would play a 4-1-4-1 because i find stikers work alot better independently and wont talk or get detracted and the man that sits in front of the defenders wins every thing in the air so to cb's dont have to go for it meaning they can watch the rest of the game and mark there men always works if you have the right players

Nah do a wenger tactic 9-0-1 there bus parkers

It really depends on the quality and certain attributes of your players. If I knew those, I could tell you a fitting tactic for your team.

I was trying to think of an original formation for my Sunday League Team which I haven't seen used which would be very effective.

What I came up with was a 4-1-3-2.

This includes the LB and RB posing as wingers on the attack as the CDM drops into defence to fill in as a CB and make a back 3.

On the defence the LB and RB track back to fulfill there defensive duties and the CDM steps back out of defence to engage with the opponents attack!

The CDM is a no nosence player who is used to break up opponents play, pick a pass and get the team moving forward.

The middle player of the 3 is creative and plays as a Modric- happy to spray some balls about but comfortable on a flat line.

Could my team pull this off? Will it be effective? What is good and what needs work? :)
