Ramos is one of a kind. Hate him, or love him, everyone can admit that he has been an astronomical defender, who has made very stupid and careless mistakes. Ramos can attack and defend. He knows when to move up. He takes risks. He is the guy who will be lurking around in the attacking third when his team needs a goal. I would choose him over Nesta, probably not Maldini.

Ramos is a shocking defender tbh, he was only ever decent around 2010.

Maldini and Nesta were obviously the best defenders.



People do neglect though the fact that Ramos DOES and HAS put in good DEFENSIVE displays in the latter stages of the UCL, and in the latter stages of the Euros of 2008/12 and the 2010, so it's not like he can do it or bring his A-game.

Ramos takes risks, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't, hes a unique defender. hes won every single major trophy for club and country so think what you want of him.

Yeah, I like Doc, he's a nice guy and never resorts to ad homs. Also has some good opinions on football. But he's had a nightmare with the quote above, imo. Also said that Xavi has never controlled games, which is almost as baffling. I mean there's only so far we can go with 'I respect your opinion'.



Ramos is average at best. He was still suspect defensively at the end of the season, but the goals were fooling people.
