I don't know if Gerrard is an English legend, something for English people to judge. But, I don't think he is overrated at all - great, great player in my opinion. Having such a long football career, isn't it normal that You do ( I mean, he did ) a mistake, an unintentional slip ... few times?
To me, from all active English players across the country, Gerrard as first, followed by Rooney - the top two players who deserve some real respect.
