because not all countries have local teams. Being a fan of a team has nothing to do with geography. It has everything to do with if you live, breath and bleed for your club and you can do that from anywhere on earth. You'd be right if this was 1940 but its the 21st century and with things like the internet you could be alot more involved and knowledgable about your club than the guy who lives next door to the stadium

''foreign fans'' keep your team afloat on this market and old traffords ''prawn sandwich crew'' are small change in comparison and barely significant, so less xenophobia more gratitude...

yeah but everyone knows they aren't real fans, they never even get to the stadiums, you aren't a fan if you've never even been to watch your team play

I'm a Manchester United fan and it really annoys me to see all these Indian and African "United" fans who haven't a clue what they are talking about. I think they are sucking the soul out of football. Not racist at all but on every facebook post about United, the top comment is either "Allahu Akbar" or "TURKIYE". Why don't they support their local team instead of plaguing our beautiful league!
