Is Rivaldo underrated in these debates?

Yep, at the time i think some refereed to refer to Brazil as "the 4 R's" Rivaldo, Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, Roberto (carlos) They were all really great but Roberto Carlos was definitely an overrated free kick taker, but what bugs me is when people say he was sh!t because he didn't score much, he was more of a defensive wing back kinda similar to Cafu imo

I don't think i rate Rivaldo as highly as you though, i always thought he seemed a bit of a b3llend that really believed his own hype, worse than Ronaldo and i think Ronaldinho was better in his prime as well

Yes.

He is a bit unlucky,he came in an era with so many world class players, including himself, and the fact that he didn't receive as much hype/attention as others round him.He did win the ballon d'or and WPOY in 1999,so he did have some recognition.

I agree in sense that during his playing days he was appreciated as one of the best but in terms of his legacy he isn't brought up much, like Ronaldo and Ronaldinho when he has done as much.

His contributions for Brazil are very under looked, greatly tbh.He was one of the best players in the 1998 and 2002 WCs.

Yes, i remember Rivaldo he was great. I only really caught the very end of his career, i can remember hi faking getting hit in the face to get the Turkish guy sent off. And everyone hated him for it, but i think he did the right thing, that unsportsmanlike bastard kicked the ball at him in temper and deserved to go.

He had tidy dribbling, set piece taking, passing, long shot, for me a better player than Ronaldinho for sure.

I agree with El Joker, Rivaldo was a absolutely phenomenal striker but was unlucky to be in the same generation as his Brazilian brother Ronaldo, who is in my opinion the best if not one of the best players in history.

many dont like him for his playacting
