Falcao is unproven in the premier league and will need time to adapt his game.
Rojo is not good enough
Herrera will take time to adapt and you may not see the best from him until January or February
Luke Shaw is class but he is the only good defender you have
Blind is a decent player but not good enough for Man Untied
Di Maria was probably the best midfielder in the world last season and is absolute class but will need time to adapt.
Throw in the fact Van Gaal needs time to implement his "Vision" and get them playing his way, i cannot see Manchester United doing much this year.
The back 3/4 is the weakest in the top 7 clubs.
With the acquisitions of Di Maria, Falcao, and Blind, LVG will definitely need to change the formation from playing a 3 man defense. In my eyes, a 4-4-2 diamond formation will definitely fit them and have everyone playing. You'd have Rafael, Jones, Rojo, and Shaw in defense, Blind in defensive mid, Herrerra/Carrick and Di Maria in central mid, Rooney/Mata in attacking midfield, and Falcao and RVP up top. Everyone gets a chance to play, and both defense and attack are well balanced.

Not a good start for Man U... But season started off not so long ago so there is plenty time. Falcao will definitely help their offense. Di Maria can definitely help create plays.
