I'm English and have lived the last 20 years in Germany, where foreigners are actually adored.
It is easily the least racist country I know, and I've been around.
"Nutella" is wrong in saying that Germany is the only country who has tried to exterminate an entire race, because he omits what the British did in Tasmania, or the more recent genocide in Ruwanda. One must also not forget how European countries wiped out so many tribes in the American continent as we swept across the new world. Spain being the worst culprit of many.
In addition, the Germans under the NS dictatorship were also victims.
Their Hitler-Jügend organisation targeted ALL German children, forcing them into believing their warped philosophy, using what is now known as the "Stockholm Syndrome" of mind control. Once the Nazi's gained power there was no stopping them. Anyone who resisted, no matter how minor, was dealt with ruthlessly, either by being killed or enslaved until they were worked to death.
I've spoken with many older Germans about this era. Nearly all are so ashamed because they feel they were so easy to convince, but they were children then, the intense propaganda began when they were just 6 years old !
These older people are now truly thankful that the allied forces "rescued" them from this brutal nazi regime. Which is why Germany has so few racists now.
I'm not making excuses for what they did, I'm simply explaining how the Nazi rulers manipulated a whole nation into committing so many attrocities, including genocide.
What is worst of all, Hitler's NDSAP party never ever won a general election. It was chaotic politics at the time which they used to force their way into power, and the underlying fear of communism, which was spreading towards their country from the east.
Hitler used the unfairness of the "Treaty of Versailles" to bludgeon support in Germany in the late 20's and early 30's. Had this treaty not forced the German nation to pay so enormously, the second world war would never have happened. That was a catastrophic mistake by France, who insisted on this treaty without any thoughts about the consequences.
For one thing, most Europeans are racist. When a football match being play, there chants of monkey noise and some fans throw bananas on the field to black players. Is a problem in Europe and it show that racist the government is doing nothing. I think that why your brother saying you racist. For me that's why I wanted brazil or argentina to win the World Cup. Now that Germany won Europeans gonna think they are superior then other races including USA

Germany has very strict laws against racism, and yes while there were a couple of racial incidents during this world cup, it doesn't mean that an entire nation thinks the same way. Nazis were around 70 years ago, not now. Tell your brother to educate himself and not make such provocative and rude remarks.
They as a country are still regarded by their past and maybe some present ideologies. I hear that a lot too, about how they started the world wars and burned people in gas chambers under Hitler, all the nazi stuff, racists, etc. Here's the thing, a country can't erase their past as it doesn't disappear, so people will always have these preconceived ideas. But every country has their problems and past. Nobody should judge any nation as a whole over past problems or politics.
Germans are quite racist as a people...this world cup even, a neo-Nazi ran out onto the field! Also, German fans game to the Germany Ghana game in blackface. There are good Germans too, but there are a LOT of racists there as well.

For people who have never lived in or been to Germany it is not supernatural to call the country racist, when in reality it is anything but.
Germany is by far the most productive country. If you want high quality you immediately want German manufacturing. That said, Germans are not racist at all; they too view Hitler as evil.

There are racsist Germans just like there are racisit Americans. Probably more so in Germany. There is not as many black people living there. But if you watched the game the only black player was on Germany's team. With Germany's past it's just the easiest thing to say to mess with you about supporting them. I supported Germany as well.
