Balotelli is an excellent player when he wants to be. I think that Rodgers likes to have players that will work hard and that is not Balotelli. He does have that spark and will prove a match winner on many days but equally I'm afraid he'll always be an accident waiting to happen too and invariably as clubs get better and are playing in top games such as Champions League knock out you can't afford to carry a player that may get sent off.
Ultimately I think he will always be someone who passes through on to the next club.
