Age isn't important - after all, people who weren't born at the time are historians and experts in WWII. The issue is when younger people are new to something and don't bother trying to research. When I was 16 I had read and watched a fair bit about history of the game. I already knew about Garrincha, Hungary 54, Dutch total football, history of the European Cup etc. The problem is when people know none of that stuff yet disrespect the past.
When the more obnoxious kids on here reach my age, and people are talking about the new big thing like he pisses all over Ronaldo and Messi because football in 2030 is so far advanced to that in 2008-2018, then they will understand.
2006 2010 an 2014
2002, 2006, 2010, 2014
1998, 2002, 2006, 2010, 2014
BEST: 2014
Worst: 2002, 2006 was quite bad too lots of really BORING games, 2010 SUCKED, they are ALL usually to defensive and everyone's to scared of making a mistake
2006, 2010, 2014.
I was 6 years old on 2002 and I remember me watching without knowing a shxt
1978/1982/1986/1990/1994/1998/2002/2006/... 39 and from england.love england but i'm also a west ham united supporter!!!
I can remember seeing newsreel footage of the 1954 world cup. In those days, they had to fly in film from wherever it was being played so you tended to see it two days later. It wasn't until 1966 that satellite technology allowed live coverage and I've seen at least some of the games ever since.
2006, 2010, 2014
I only remember parts of 2002 like my dad getting mad when the South Koreans controversially advanced instead of Italy lol
2002 was my first and i remember it really well, it was my favourite as well mainly because England were really good in it, beat Argentina, thrashed Denmark in the Second round as it was known then, and really gave Brazil a run for their money, asides from that it was my first World Cup so it's got Nostalgia value for me
I thought it was a good tournament and the shocks were good, 2006 was a worse tournament imo
Worst 2010: it was just poor, boring defensive football, vuvuzela things, the ball that everyone was complaining about, rubbish South African stadiums, it was just poor from start to finish, also that stupid flucking England fan who walked in the dressing room was celebrated as a hero, it really irritates the fluck out of me how much idiots are supported, celebrated and encouraged in the UK, kids these days look up to idiots from Towie and Geordie shore, fluck me is that really what my generation aspire to be?? drunken flucking thick uninformed morons, depressing
8 years old in 1990.
