After last season's collapse - the self-acclaimed 'biggest club' in the world can't afford to slip further down the league ladder, with their wagon-load of expensive players (Wooney, RvP, Mata, Di Maria etc).
United are a flag-ship of the EPL - much the same as M&S are in High St retailing - with NO automatic right to succeed on the basis of brand image, reputation or past achievements.
Millions WILL drift away - shirt sales plummet - loyalties fade - if Manu are still in the bottom-half of the table after 10 games.
Cash to splash (with latest sponsorship deals) is all very well - unless soon seen to be money down the drain. Success breeds success - just as failure can snowball out of control - under its own weight of gavity.
He'll last the full 3 years.
In my opinion, the biggest reason for us doing poorly at the moment, is because the players aren't yet use to the new system
Once they get use to it, then we'll be fine, especially in attack, because our current attack is good enough, apart from winger.
Either we get use to the system quickly or go back to the old one and that worked.
Defensive midfield is the main priority at the moment.
yah, we 'll know what a manager van gaal is! giving manager rate i would give him 9 out of 10. I think is good coach for mu lately, because at world cup netherlands
At least mid-season if nothing disastrous was to happen and like remaining bottom table.
Moyes should have been given more time.
Cheers
2 months.
at least 3 years.
i never felt he's a good choice for mu - mancini, hiddink, capello were all better choices than him, because they knew english football well and were available or possible to sign.. Van Gaal is a great coach, i just don't feel he's for mu or english football in general
