I know that it is a shocking scoreline, but the MK Dons are actually a good team. In fact, I think they will get promoted from League One to the Championship this season.
Also, from what I saw of the game last night, the Manchester United defence looked abysmal. They constantly gave the ball away and they were making poor decisions throughout the game. The outcome of this game makes me worry about the youth players coming through as much as the first team. However, the fact that the trio of Kagawa, Hernandez and Welbeck couldn't yield any goals against the MK Dons is very ominous. LVG needs to recruit soon and effectively, or else Manchester United could decline even further.
I watched the game.
Manchester United constantly gave the ball away.
If you watch the goals, they were due to sloppy mistakes from us.
MK Dons put away the few chances they have.
We also had a few chances, but didn't put them away.
The new system is the reason why Manchester United aren't doing great at the moment.
A change of system would make a massive difference, in my opinion.
I doubt Van Gaal will change that though and after the game he said his philosophy takes time.
Di Maria will likely start our next game and he's far too good to play as anything other than a winger so I do hope he changes the system, though I doubt it.
How it happened is because MK dons put the ball in the back of the net 4 times man Utd didn't do it once so it was 4-0
Cliche time ? There are no easy games - It's just XI against XI - It's a funny old game - etc etc.
Or perhaps - The bigger they are, the harder they fall ?
Whatever, MUFC are clearly in a state of total disarray and yes - it could get even worse.
Imo - Ferguson's LEGACY was HIS record of past success - which isn't worth a candle to any subsequent manager taking over a large squad of 'mixed ability' players. And lashing out £60 million on Di Maria could back-fire grievously if he fails to hit the ground running (whoops - another cliche) and perform especially well against Burnley (who are they ?).
Van Gaal might match SAF in the PO-FACE department - but I suspect his bewilderment will only increase as he tries to sort the wheat from the chaff. And wonder why very well paid members of the squad can't even pass a ball accurately, retain possession - or panic when given a goal-scoring opportunity.
(Never mind intelligently ANTICIPATE the next unpredictable move of one of the better players.)
Unacceptable - Crisis - Disgrace.
Hmm - doesn't it remind one of the fall-out from Gordon Brown's period of mis-management ?
And wasn't he a bully-boy Scot to boot ?
The team was barely even 2nd team with the likes of Keane, Vermijl, Janko, James, Wilson. LVG didn't take Mata, Rooney, RVP, anyone who is actually any good. Anderson was woeful. In contrary to previous poster, I would say it was the managers fault. He played 3 at the back, 2 of which have barely ever played competitive football for the club. For 3 at the back to be successful, you need 3 experienced, familiar defenders. United had none.
Suddenly Man United seem ordinary and teams are realising the Red Devils have zero magic to win whenever they want.
Man United have very poor depth at all positions.
The MK Dons were relentless and deserved the win.
Put quite simply, MK Dons outplayed us in every department. The worst result I can remember in 43 years. Shocking in every way. We are Manchester United. it doesn’t matter who plays for the team. If you’re playing for us then you play your guts out for us fans. We’ve been on a slow decline since Roy Keane left and then Ronaldo. Tonight was a new low in not how to do it. None of these players ( even possibly Ge Gea ), apart from Powell and Kagawa, should ever be allowed to put on a United shirt again. They’re not even good enough for Manchester United reserves. It was shocking.
They didn't play very well. The goals certainly weren't the fault of the manager as each one was the result of a defender giving away the ball. They didn't attack well at all and by the end they looked desperate.
Maybe Van Gaal needs to change formation but he definitely needs better players.
Aye feller, it would be nice if Celtic and Man ud had a good clean tussle. Especially in the shape they are in.
I came back home after the League Cup games had finished and went on the BBC Sport website. I saw the score 'MK Dons 4-0 Man Utd'. How did that happened?
And before anyone asks, no I'm not a United fan, but I still can't believe they lost by such a large margin to a team like MK Dons. How did that happen?
Also, well done to MK Dons.
mk dons lol, theyre garbage, Wolves thoroughly beat them last time we saw them.
Unfortunately very easily.
Throwing money at problems can produce even bigger problems.
no desire or will to win.
This is great news, thanks
