If Welbeck IS talented and a good prospect - why did United sell him ?
Professor Wenger hasn't been too clever in his transfer dealings - especially with strikers - and I suppose £16 million was cheap enough to risk - given his current problems.
I DO NOT rate Welbeck highly - I doubt his footballing INTELLIGENCE (awareness, anticipation etc) - and doubt this can be taught - even by Wenger.
But time will tell. SOME thought Emile Heskey was good enough to play for England.
; ))
We already know how much Danny Welbeck improved at a top TWO club (hence ipso facto at a top four club) due to his fairly regular appearances for Manchester United under a COMPETENT manager during the seasons:
2011-12, when United were very close runners up to MCFC; and
2012-13, when United were run-away clear Champions.
We also know how well he improved (or otherwise) under an INCOMPETENT manager during the season
2013-14 when Man City were champions and DM took the team down to a pitiful 7th.
It remains to be seen what he might do in a team that routinely scrapes into a top four position without really pressing for the title, under the tutelage of a management team with questionable competence.
Grd8, he can't be worse than Sanogo.
The amount of chances Arsenal strikers get is incredible, just look at the recent match stats. He doesn't need to create his own chances or be extraordinary to shine here. He just needs to be able to hit the ball on target a fair amount of the time.
It's City, isn't it? They are a small club, with a small mentality. All they can talk about is Manchester United, that's all they've done and they can't get away from it.
Not with that Froganese air-thief, WHINGER in charge! If HIM, and that ar$ehole, "RED DEVIL", (that Kuala Lumpur-based "Salford-ite"), were to STOP breathing, there wouldn't be such an aroma of BULL$HIT, in the air
Yeah I think he can improve, the process will take time though. He will probably continue to frustrate at times. Manchester United fans will tell you he frustrated them many times.
CL football lured him no doubt but can this talented young Englishman make a name for himself ?
