They figured the turf has a lifetime of fertilizer applied to it because of all the cr@p that has played on the pitch. Even bus did not ruin the turf so you know its tough and strong.

Aldershot donated their turf for a cancer hospital so Chelsea gave them last season's turf for free so they don't go broke. Classy move from Chelsea.
