You can smash a guy over the head with a chair but they still don't bite each other in Wrestling.
Wrestling is fake but football is exaggerating. You see the ref isn't going to give you a penalty if you stumble because it doesn't look as bad but irrelevant of the reaction the tackle may of been a foul and warrant a penalty. Very few players outright lie often and they're hated for it (robben,suarez or janzuj) and because of this referees have a bias against those players so they rarely get given penalties which puts them off.
